Conferences and Panels

MUSSA helps organizes various panels and conferences within the faculty. In 2019 for MMSt's 50th anniversary, we helped organized a panel on risk-taking in the museum field. MUSSA also  helped plan the iSchool Student Conference in 2018, and the Museum Detox panel in collaboration with MPOC in 2020.

Field Trips

MUSSA organizes field trips to visit various cultural institutions. These include behind-the-scenes tours of local institutions in the Toronto area, or a biennial trip to another Canadian city. In 2019,  we went to Ottawa where our students enjoyed engaging, exciting, and informative behind-the-scenes tours and activities. Feel free to check out the highlights in the Musings article!

MUSSA acknowledges the past and ongoing role of museums in colonialism and are committed to overcoming and reforming oppressive practices within the iSchool and larger museum community. MUSSA operates on the traditional lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit, Wendat peoples, Haudenosaunee, and Anishinaabe. We are thankful to be situated on Turtle Island and for the opportunity to learn and work on the land.
