Treasurer
Niki Wickramasinghe

This (Ken)didate is a Virgo. And not just any Virgo, but the rare and coveted August Virgo who demonstrates an immeasurable amount of attention to detail, organisation skills, and thorough analysis minus the overtly-critical neuroses. Her job is B.E.A.C.H. (Budgeting, Expenditures, Accounting, Cash Flows, Horizontal Analysis), and my, how good she is at B.E.A.C.H… During her time in the real world, she gained experience in managing money through executive positions she held in university student clubs, her high school student council, and her childhood piggy-bank. As treasurer, she would responsibly handle your money, make cute MMSt merch accessible, and work collaboratively with the wonderful MUSSA Barbies to make your academic year a blast. Above all, she understands that MMSt/CDP students are everything, and she’s just Ken.
Social Assistant
Liz Sullivan

Hi everyone! My name is Liz, and I am running to be the social assistant for MUSSA this year. I am a second year CDP student, and served as the first-year representative on MUSSA last year. As a part of the council, I saw first-hand the time and effort the social committee devoted to planning amazing events for MMSt and CDP students. As first-year representative, I had the privilege of assisting with some of the organising and executing of these events. I am passionate about creating a welcoming environment not just within the Faculty of Information, but also at every single event that MUSSA will host. I hope to work with MUSSA to provide a wide variety of activities and events for students to attend and enjoy in the upcoming school year. My inbox is always open for questions or suggestions, and I look forward to engaging with all of you to make this year the best it can be!
Van Gonzalez

I would like to nominate myself for the position of Social Assistant.Throughout my academic journey and experiences within the museum studies field, I have come to recognize the immense value of fostering a close-knit and supportive community among our fellow students.I truly believe that the connections we make beyond the classroom are just as valuable as what we learn inside it. My goal is to help organize fun events and activities that not only help us network but also get to know each other and hopefully create some meaningful friendships. Thank you for considering my nomination. I look forward to the possibility of serving our association.
Social Media Assistant
Iris Wu

Hello, my name is Iris Wu (she/her). I would like to nominate myself for the position of Social Media Assistant. I have attended several welcoming week activities organized by MUSSA. I thoroughly enjoy spending time with everyone in this amazing organization and would love to become a part of it. I have experience operating social media accounts for my previous employer, and it went well. I can’t wait to assist our Social Media Manager, Anna, in sharing our MMSt and CDP programs, along with all the fun activities, with our current and future students! :)
First-Year Representative
Laura Prior

Hello everyone! In putting forward my nomination there are several things I promise to make my priority, because they are the same things which are important to me as a person outside of elections. I will always do my best to be approachable and available. I know that it can be intimidating to make your concerns known, but I want to ensure that everyone will have a safe place to do so. I will also be an active listener. Representing a large group of students with varying experiences and perspectives can be challenging, but everyone deserves to have their thoughts understood and communicated to the right people. I also want to make sure that all first years feel included and represented within the department so that everyone has access to the same information and can be a part of the decisions we make together over the course of the year. Thank you so much for your consideration. All the best for the upcoming year, and I hope to chat with you all soon!

Programs Committee Representative
Amanda Furniss

Hey there! My name is Amanda Furniss, I am a second-year MMSt student, and hope to be your Programs Committee Representative for the 2023-24 academic year! While this is my first year running for the MUSSA committee, I am starting my second year working for the iSchool where I help new and current students find resources and information about the Faculty of Information, programs, specializations, and more. As a past and current student representative of the program, I believe I would be a perfect candidate to be involved with MUSSA in the Programs Committee Representative position.
